Gutter Relining
Henfield Leisure
Centre, West Sussex
Introduction
We were appointed to carry out a programme of targeted roof remedials at Henfield Leisure Centre — relining the gutters, arresting cut-edge corrosion and renewing rooflights across the sports hall and pool roofs. The works extended the life of the existing roof without the cost or disruption of a full re-roof, and were completed in two weeks with the centre operational throughout.
The Challange
The existing profiled metal roof was suffering from cut-edge corrosion along the sheet laps and fixings, while the gutter runs had lost their watertight integrity — leaving the building exposed to water ingress. With a busy leisure centre operating below, a full strip-and-re-sheet was neither necessary nor cost-effective. The client needed the existing roof made good and guaranteed, with minimal disruption to users.
The Solution
RML delivered a focused package of remedial works. Scaffold and MEWP access was installed with full edge protection, and approved RAMS were in place before commencement. Gutters were cleared, flushed and re-lined with the CGL RynnaLine system, and all affected sheet edges, laps and fixings were treated with a two-stage cut-edge corrosion system. The result is a fully watertight, guaranteed roof at a fraction of the cost of replacement.
